ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL FOR 26-27TH STORM

THERE HAS BEEN REPORTS OF 1 TO 2.5" OF SNOW PER HOUR! THIS IS STILL A VERY DANGEROUS STORM SYSTEM! COUNTIES ACROSS OHIO HAVE SNOW BANS, SNOW EMERGENCIES AND SOME COUNTIES IN THE NORTHEAST ARE NOW CLOSING! THIS IS A VERY BAD SYSTEM AND I SUGGEST YOU DO NOT DRIVE FOR AT LEAST ONE TO TWO HOURS AFTER THE STORM IS OVER SO THE ROADWAYS CAN GET CLEARED! ALSO I DO NOT EXPECT SOUTHEASTERN OHIO TO SEE ANY WINTRY PRECIPITATION. THERE MAY BE A FEW SNOWFLAKES TO MIX IN BUT IT IS UNLIKELY!

HERE IS AN ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL MAP!

Updated 26-28th Major Snowstorm!

This is a very major storm system! I would not to be surprised to see some isolated areas having more than 18". This is going to grab tons of moisture from the gulf and then travel up to our area! be prepared because it is coming

That 12"+ is the most likely area that could see higher than 18". Be prepared especially anywhere in the red and purple area! I have issued blizzard watches in this area! THOSE WATCHES/WARNINGS WERE NOT ISSUED BY NOAA! I ISSUED THEM! Stay tuned for the latest updates!

Confidence in the forecast: HIGH (85%)

Updated Watches and Warnings that i have issued! This is NOT NOAAS!

The winter storm watch in the Northeast and Central Ohio is in effect from 11pm Tuesday until 1 pm Thursday. You can expect a Winter Storm Warning to be issued either tonight or tomorrow morning. You can expect around 8-12" with more snow possible in isolated areas. You can also expect blowing and drifting snow on top of it. Expect blizzard like conditions to occur during this time period. Blowing and drifting snow could cause travel to be very dangerous and in some cases become impossible to drive in.  By the end of the storm you could see it briefly transition over to freezing rain or a mixing as temperatures should climb between 32-33 at the end of the storm. A blizzard watch is also in effect for this area. A blizzard watch means there is a potential for winds to be 35 mph+ for more than 3 hours along with the snow. This could be dangerous for many areas!

The Winter storm watch for Northwest Ohio is in effect from 6 pm Tuesday to 11 am Thursday.  You can expect a Winter Storm Warning  to be issued either tonight or tomorrow morning. You can expect a genera 5-9" with a local 10"+. You can expect blizzard like conditions to occur during this time period. Blowing and drifting snow could cause travel very dangerous and is likely to become impossible to drive in.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for southern Ohio, it is in effect from 6 pm TUE to 10 am THU. You can expect around 3-5". You can also expect to see some ice accumulations, it does not seem significant but it does have a chance to be significant. You can expect some minor blowing and drifting snow but nothing to cause a Blizzard Warning. Weather will cause travel to be hazardous and can become impossible to drive in at times! Stay tuned for the very latest!

Updated Christmas Eve System/ Travel Delays

This Christmas Eve storm is actually looking just a tad warmer. It could cause some slushy roads, possible if the Precipitation of snow/rain would fall hard enough. Since the ground is below 32 degrees for Northeast Ohio the snow if it does fall has a good chance of sticking. In the mixing you can get any of the following, Snow, Sleet, Rain and/or freezing rain. Or you could see all at once. Its tricky. If you do see all snow from this storm i expect in the Northeast you could see around 1" with maybe 2" if your lucky.

Here is the precipitation Outlook for Christmas Eve System

Here is the Weather Related Travel Delays for Christmas Eve

This forecast has High Confidence.

Christmas Eve is tomorrow... Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Eve system looking a little warmer!

The Christmas Eve storm is looking a little warmer. So if this stays the same then the totals will change
Here is my updated forecast map for snowfall totals!

As you can see the totals shouldn't be more than an inch. There could be an isolated area with 1.5-2".
Confidence in this forecast, Medium: 65%

Christmas eve system/ Travel delays

Christmas eve is coming up and there is a system that is likely to move through. Here are the expected snowfall amounts for the Christmas eve system. It will be a very minor system.

On top of that here are the expected weather Travel Delays. This is not included in non- weather related delays!

Could we see a Blizzard for the North and a possible Ice Storm for the south?

For all of Ohio we have a potential to see a major system that could move through are area! We could see anywhere from 8-14"+ with this storm around the 26-28th For Columbus south this area could see 2-5"+ with around 1/2-3/4" of ice. This could be devastating especially if the possible heavy ice could way down trees and power lines! This snowstorm is looking better and better if you like the snow!

Here is the map of the possible storm
My Confidence in this map: Medium  (60%)
